“The legendary Baby Woodrose front man plays an enticing solo set
He is the king of Danish psychedelic rock, front man of popular acts Baby Woodrose and Spids Nøgenhat, and he has paved the way for a whole new generation of psych rock bands.
Say hello to Uffe Lorenzen aka Lorenzo Woodrose, a name that has become his stage name in Baby Woodrose.
The 46-year-old musician has been part of the rock scene since the late 80s, first as a drummer in the band On Trial who played Roskilde Festival twice in the late 90s. Later he started what has become his main outlet, Baby Woodrose (also playing Roskilde Festival 2017) who enjoyed a bigger breakthrough in 2003 with their album Money for Soul and the single “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”. Baby Woodrose won the prestigious P3 Guld award, and later they played our Orange Stage two years in a row (first as the opening act and the following year as the closing act). The year before they had played our stage for upcoming bands.
10 years later, in 2013, an even bigger breakthrough followed with the band Spids Nøgenhat, and more or less everybody in Denmark became acquainted with the surprise hippie hit single “Lolland Falster” and the album Kommer med fred, which won the band two Danish Music Awards and further two critics’ awards (known as Steppeulven).
When Lorenzo Woodrose plays solo concerts on his 12-stringed acoustic guitar you can expect hits from the back catalogues of both Baby Woodrose and Spids Nøgenhat mixed with carefully selected covers of personal psych favourites from the 60s and 70s. Look forward to the most intimate experience when Lorenzo Woodrose starts strumming his songs. Text: Roskilde Festival 2017″
