STEFAN MURPHY
Stefan Murphy is a Dublin born artist currently living and working out of Atlanta in the US. Murphy will be known to some for his previous work as leader of The Mighty Stef who released 4 critically acclaimed albums between 2006 and 2015 and toured their fair share of the world. Despite their last album ‘Year Of The Horse’ going top 10 in Ireland the band called it a day in early 2016 and Murphy moved overseas. Having released three experimental albums under the name Count Vaseline and having toured the US extensively to promote them, Stefan Murphy is returning to a more brass knuckles version of what he is known for. Standing on a stage, singing songs and telling stories. With a wealth of new material and a new album in the works…The first record as ‘Stefan Murphy’ he is returning to Europe for a small string of solo shows. The new songs are as folk as they are soulful as they are punk, echoes of influences that Stef has never shied away from can still be heard…Velvet Underground, Van Morrison, Jonathan Richman, Townes Van Zandt to name only a few. The shows will feature a healthy dose of Mighty Stef material.
