“A progressive honky-tonk hero arriving at just the right time in Trump’s America”- Rolling Stone

Jack Grelle is a strong, idealistic songwriter from St. Louis, Missouri. Combining the styles of folk, traditional country, honky tonk, and rock and roll, Grelle is able to capture the themes and tones of our country’s past and present struggles and triumphs.

Grelle’s willingness to move among genres is a testament to the urgency and restlessness of his artistry. This rambling spirit has brought his songs to over fifteen countries and three continents. His 2016 release, “Got Dressed Up to Be Let Down” received rave reviews landing a spot on Rolling Stone’s “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know” as well as L.A. Weekly’s “10 Lamest Americana Acts” along side the legendary Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams and Jason Isbell. An earlier 2014 release, “Steering Me Away” won “Best Country Album” at The Independent Music Awards and was celebrated by DJs and country music fans across Europe.

Along with touring both Europe and the US in 2017, Grelle went beyond the role of singer-songwriter when he assembled a backing band for Lavender Country’s first midwest tour, showcasing the world’s first gay country album written in 1973 by Patrick Haggerty. Haggerty and Grelle’s collaboration has blossomed into a friendship, and still they tour the U.S. while simultaneously working on a new Lavender Country album. Grelle’s drive continually leads him to new challenges, and he consistently exceeds expectations.
