Indiana-baserade duon The Cold Stares har fått tillökning och är numera en trio. Som klassiskt power-trio gör de fortfarande en högspänningshybrid av rock, blues och punk, men nyanserna har blivit fler. Högljutt, rått och skitigt men hela tiden med en respekt för tradition;. Blind Willie Johnson möter Son House; Stevie Ray Vaughan möter Black Sabbath; Soundgarden möter Black Crowes; Free möter Led Zeppelin. Och viktigast av allt – det må vara tungt och stökigt men svänget och livsglädjen finns där hela tiden. Och som trio har de anammat en friare attityd, en uppfriskande musikalisk nyfikenhet och färre begränsningar.
The Cold Stares turnerade i Sverige sommaren 2021 och det är många som väntat på att de ska komma tillbaka. Missa inte när The Cold Stares nu återvänder till Sverige!
For the past ten years, The Cold Stares have toured the world relentlessly as a duo, blowing away audiences across the US and Europe with a fierce, blistering live show that belied their bare bones, guitar-and-drums setup. Now, the band is embracing a whole new kind of chemistry as they launch their next chapter, adding a third member and channeling the classic power trio sound they grew up on with their explosive new album, “Voices”.
“The chains were off when we made this record,” says guitarist/singer Chris Tapp. “Suddenly, all the parameters that had dictated what we could and couldn’t do just disappeared and we were free to create whatever sound we wanted.”
