Mandolin Sisters – Sreeusha and Sireesha are electric mandolin players hailing from Chennai, India. The sisters interpretes vast repertoire of classic carnatic music, a traditional music from southern India. Immersed in the world of music from the age five, the sisters have learned to play mandolin and honed the ways of carnatic music largely on their own. Initiated into their musical journey by their father, they continued their study with guru Vidwan Sri Rudraraju Subbaraju (disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Chembhai Vidhyanatha Bhagavathar and teacher of the legendary mandolin player Sri U.Srinivas) and currently studies under Guru Vidwan Sri Sengalipuram S V Ramamurthy Iyer. Mandolin Sisters combine their energy and artistry to sublimate the ancient ragas. With over 2000 concerts under their belt in India and abroad, they will be showcasing their grooves in Europe for the first time in November 2016.
